DHL Group Workplaces Ranked Third-Best in Australia
Press Release: 23 August 2024 Sydney, Australia
DHL Group has shown the strength of its unified approach to the Great Place to Work® (GPTW) survey with a third-place result, placing it among the best places to work in Australia.
This marks the first time that DHL, as an entire group across all Business Units, has been certified by GPTW. In previous years, only individual Business Units took part in the survey. By participating as a group this year, DHL has reaffirmed that HR topics and employee development are not confined to specific business areas and are integral to the company’s DNA.
DHL Group’s four top leaders in Australia, Denise McGrouther, Vice President and Managing Director, DHL eCommerce; Phil Corcoran, Managing Director, DHL Express; George Lawson, Managing Director DHL Global Forwarding; Steve Thompsett, CEO, DHL Supply Chain have all been passionate about coming together for this year’s survey.
The result was announced and celebrated at a gala dinner hosted by GPTW, a global authority on workplace culture.
McGrouther said she is incredibly proud of DHL Australia’s As One GPTW ranking.
“The results are a testament to the collaboration of the four divisions, our commitment to creating a work culture that attracts and retains the best talent and fosters innovation and development. It is a positive reflection on our foundations for growth, delivering value to employees and customers for long-term business success,” she said.
Corcoran said that he could not be more proud of the results achieved together entering this prestigious award as a combined DHL Group for the first time.
“This is a true reflection of the high levels of trust, teamwork, and positive culture that enable and empower our 6,000 dedicated employees working at our DHL Group facilities across the country to continue to deliver on our purpose,” he said.
Lawson shared that a strong workplace culture is the number one prerequisite to success in a highly competitive people-based industry.
“We believe happy employees deliver better customer service and are more loyal. They tell others how good we are and encourage top talent to join our team,” he said.
Thompsett said that while the DHL business units strive for excellence across different fields in logistics, they are of one mind when it comes to employee satisfaction.
“One of our strategic goals is to create a family atmosphere for DHL Supply Chain staff, incorporating immersive training, a strong safety culture and genuine diversity,” he said. “We do this because we know that being a great place to work also results in great experiences for our warehousing and transport customers, as well as great results for their customers.”
