Increasing road taxes in Switzerland and higher road tax announced in Austria

The Swiss government has decided to increase their road taxes as of 1 January 2025. This increase therefore leads to higher costs for goods to/from Switzerland as well as the countries where Switzerland acts as a transit country.

The Austrian government has decided to increase the CO2 surcharge on their road taxes, but it has not yet been finally announced when the increase will be implemented. For the time being, we expect the general Maut tariffs in Austria to increase as of 1 January 2025, which will lead to an increase in the road taxes on goods to/from Austria as well as the countries where Austria acts as a transit country.
