The Italian road haulage association Trasportounito has announced the suspension of the previously planned national road transport strike scheduled for 20–25 April 2026.

As a result, no disruptions related to this industrial action are currently expected to affect transports to, from, or via Italy.

At the same time, information has been received regarding a possible road transport service strike that may take place in May 2026. The scope and implementation of any potential industrial action are not yet known.

A nationwide strike taking place in Italy from 20 to 25 April 2026 may cause delays to international transport operations.

The strike may lead to disruptions to road and rail transport within Italy as well as to port operations. The strike will run from Monday 20 April to Saturday 25 April, but its effects may also extend into the following week.

Potential transport disruptions may also impact DHL Freight services, as a significant share of traffic to and from Italy is handled via intermodal transport, where trailers are transported part of the journey by rail. This may result in delays to collections and deliveries during week 17.

DHL Freight is closely monitoring the situation in cooperation with its transport and logistics partners and is taking the necessary measures to minimize delays and secure transport capacity. Shipments will be moved to the next available departures without any action required from customers.
