DHL and Formula 1®: Delivering 20 years of incredible teamwork

Before fans watch the thrilling action on the narrow, winding streets of Monaco or the iconic, high-speed corners of Silverstone, we are behind the scenes, moving with speed and precision and meticulously managing the “race behind the race.” 

This year, we’re delivering the most extensive race calendar yet. But we’re not only managing the race to transport F1® from circuit to circuit. We’re also supporting our partner’s race to net zero and efforts to foster diversity in the sport.

Our world-leading multimodal logistics is pivotal in reducing logistics-related carbon emissions. We introduced a fleet of biofuel-powered trucks for European races, which reduces emissions by 83% compared to diesel. To cross oceans and continents, we use fuel-efficient Boeing 777 aircraft, cutting emissions by 17% compared to traditional aircraft. We will even add a new sustainable motorhome equipped with solar panels for use as the team’s home base at select European races – transported from race to race using a biofuel-powered truck.

Together with our partner, we’re also striving to make the world of logistics and motorsports a more inclusive place – to create a winning culture where everyone feels empowered to reach their full potential.

Our motorsports logistics team of 100 specialists orchestrates the movement of up to 1,400 tons of high-value freight to each race. With more races across more continents this year, we worked closely with F1® to rationalize the expanded calendar to create a better flow of races and reduce the distance freight has to travel between events. 

As we celebrate 20 years of partnership, our bond with Formula 1® remains stronger than ever. Together, we continue to push boundaries and drive efficiency and sustainability in motorsports.
