DHL Express Appoints New Managing Director for Hong Kong and Macau

• Effective January 1, 2024, Andy Chiang takes over the reins of DHL Express Hong Kong and Macau from Ng Chee Choong
• Andy Chiang is a DHL veteran with 30 years of service at the company
• Ng Chee Choong is appointed as the Managing Director of DHL Express Taiwan

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, today announced the appointment of Andy Chiang as the Managing Director for DHL Express Hong Kong and Macau as well as a member of the DHL Express Asia Pacific management board. Relinquishing his position as Head of Global Strategic Finance, Andy succeeds Ng Chee Choong, who assumes the role of Managing Director for DHL Express Taiwan.

With his strong finance background, Andy brings in 30 years of experience in various country and regional roles at DHL Express. He will report to Ken Lee, CEO, Asia Pacific, DHL Express, and will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

In his new role as Managing Director for Hong Kong and Macau, Andy will lead the team and provide top-notch service and solutions to customers, strengthening the position of DHL Express as the market leader. Andy is experienced with the Greater China region, with his responsibilities of managing Network Fee with China joint venture partner Sinotrans Group since 2005, as well as representing DHL’s interests in the China Joint Venture Board of Directors since 2012.

Andy started as Chief Accounting Manager in DHL Express Hong Kong and, from 1992 onwards, took on several country and regional financial roles. In 2005, he was appointed Country CFO in DHL Express China before moving to a regional role as Vice President, Finance Controlling for DHL Express Asia Pacific in 2011. In 2019, he took over as Head of Global Strategic Finance, consistently delivering remarkable outcomes in network fee management. At the same time, Andy has provided invaluable support in driving sustainable growth and network profitability.

Being a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellowship member of Certified Public Accountants Australia, Andy holds a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and a Master’s degree in professional accounting.  

DHL Express Hong Kong was established in 1972, and today serves the city’s logistics needs through the expanded Central Asia Hub, four DHL service centers, and approximately 750 retail outlets and ServicePoints. DHL Express Hong Kong’s extensive network and connectivity is powered by over 1,600 employees, playing a vital role in maintaining the company’s status as Hong Kong and Macau’s logistics leader – managing approximately 230 vehicles and handling 200 dedicated flights per week.
