DHL EXPRESS JAPAN RENEWS 15-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH J-LEAGUE’S URAWA RED DIAMONDS FOR 2021 SEASON

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider has extended its partnership agreement with J-League football club, Urawa Red Diamonds (Urawa Reds) for the 15th consecutive year. The long-standing partnership began in the 2007 season when Urawa Reds won its first victory at the Asian Champions League (ACL). With this latest extension of the partnership, DHL Express will continue to provide support for the team throughout the 2021 season.

Unprecedented challenges are still ahead both in terms of the economy and sports, but DHL and Urawa Reds will strive together in 2021 to connect people and improve lives.”
Today, on the same day the Urawa Reds introduced new players for the 2021 season, DHL Express also unveiled several initiatives to celebrate the 15-year partnership with the team.
DHL will be the match sponsor of the Urawa Reds’ opening match planned for 27th February. Furthermore, DHL Express Japan’s renewed partnership will also support Urawa Reds Ladies, the lady’s team of Urawa Reds for the first year of the Japan Ladies Football league, called “WE League”. The league is slated to begin in September 2021.
Yoichi Tachibana, President of Urawa Red Diamonds, said, “We are very pleased that DHL Express has offered their continued support for our team. Their long-standing and unwavering commitment has been going on for 15 years since our first appearance in ACL. Together with DHL, we will strives to do our utmost to win the J-league championship, and to secure a place in Asian football stage, ACL once again.”
DHL’s collaboration with the Urawa Reds extends beyond the football pitch, including support for the team’s corporate social responsibility activities and international exchange programs throughout Japan and Asia.
With this renewed partnership, the DHL brand will be displayed at the club’s home stadium, Saitama Stadium on J-League game days. The famous red and yellow DHL logo will also appear on players’ shorts and practice wear.
