DHL EXPRESS TO COLLABORATE WITH BASICKS AT RAKUTEN FASHION WEEK TOKYO

The partnership aims to encourage and influence the fashion industry to pursue “positive fashion” and sustainability
Tokyo, Japan, July 26, 2022: DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, will be collaborating with designer Masanori Morikawa's fashion brand BASICKS launched in 2021, at the Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO 2023 S/S to be held from August 29, 2022. DHL’s commitment to sustainable logistics and lower carbon footprint is aligned with Morikawa's new brand strategy that aims to achieve sustainable supply chain from material sourcing to distribution. Both companies will work together to explore new business models to help address issues in the fashion industry.

Morikawa first participated in Fashion Week in Tokyo as a designer for CHRISTIAN DADA until 2015, after which he moved his presentation stage to Paris. This time, the world premiere of his new brand BASICKS will be held at the Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO 2023S/S.
As a strong supporter of fashion weeks around the world, DHL is an official sponsor and has also participated in Tokyo Fashion Week for more than 10 years. From 2011 to 2017, the company presented the DHL Designer Award to young Japanese talents, and supported 13 young designers in advancing their careers overseas. DHL’s first experience with Morikawa was through the DHL Designer Award, which he received in 2013.
