DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has been named Japan’s Best Workplace 2023 by Great Place to Work® Institute Japan (GPTW) for the eleventh consecutive year. DHL Express Japan was ranked the third among Japan large companies category (over 1,000 employees).

DHL believes that improving employee satisfaction and motivation is the source of superior service quality that differentiates it from its competitors.  Accordingly, becoming the employer of choice is one of the objectives that DHL had set as part of its mid-to long-term corporate strategies.  An annual Employee Opinion Survey is conducted to measure satisfaction levels among all employees, the results of which were analyzed on a team-by-team basis, and various measures have been implemented to improve the ease and satisfaction of working.

In addition, last year, for the first time in three years, the Employee of the Year (EOY) awards physical event was held again to honor the best performing employees selected in the Asia Pacific region, and 23 winners from Japan took part in the event in Bangkok, Thailand.  This recognizes employees who have made the greatest contribution to the company's business, for example by providing excellent customer service, and the award is a great honor for employees which would work significantly to grow their engagement.

The ranking was decided based on an annual survey conducted by GPTW, the global authority on workplace culture. The survey collects replies of more than ten million employees in ten thousand companies in approximately a hundred countries, and the top 100 companies are announced in each country based on the survey result.
