DHL EXPRESS LAUNCHES NEW FLIGHT ROUTE CONNECTING ASIA AND THE U.S. OPERATED BY SINGAPORE AIRLINES

The DHL-SIA Boeing 777 freighter that provides a maximum capacity of 102 tons will bolster delivery services between Asia and North America via Central Japan International Airport

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has commenced a new dedicated flight route between Singapore and the United States via Central Japan International Airport. Operated by Singapore Airlines (SIA), the routes will fly on the Boeing 777F bearing the joint livery of DHL and SIA. Offering a maximum capacity of 102 tons, the freighter adds capacity to DHL Express' intercontinental air network. This will meet the growing demand for international express delivery between Asia and North America.

In March 2022, DHL Express and SIA signed a Crew and Maintenance agreement to deploy five Boeing 777 freighters. Under the agreement, SIA operates  new cargo routes between South Asia, North Asia and North America, based at Changi Airport in Singapore. 

Together with the third freighter, the fourth freighter from Singapore arrives at Central Japan International Airport today. It will operate five weekly flights at Singapore-Nagoya-Los Angeles-Honolulu-Singapore, and one weekly flight at Singapore-Taipei-Nagoya-Nagoya-Cincinnati-Honolulu-Sydney-Singapore.

DHL Express is the only company in Japan's international express industry to establish an air network out of Central Japan International Airport. It has consistently enhanced the network capacity, including the launch of DHL Air UK service in June last year and the increase in flights in September the same year.

DHL Express continuously invests to cater to the growth in cross-border time-sensitive shipments. It operates over 300 dedicated aircraft across its global network of 220 countries and territories. The Boeing 777 freighters are the world's largest, longest range, and most capable twin-engine freighters that also contribute to DHL’s sustainability goals, reducing CO2 emissions by 18 percent compared to the legacy B747-400s.
