DHL EXPRESS LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE SHIPPING TOOL FOR SHIPPERS AT DROP-OFF LOCATIONS

Press Release: Tokyo Japan, April 27, 2023

Shipping with the new online tool, “POS DIY Service”

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has launched “POS DIY Service”, a new online tool for shipping from any DHL drop-off location.  In the past, when shipping from a drop-off location, a handwritten waybill had to be prepared, but from now on, if shipping information is filled online in advance, the shippers can easily have their air waybill and invoice printed on site.

Tony Khan, President and Representative Director of DHL Express Japan said, " We have always been working to make it easier for our customers to use our services. With the launch of our POS DIY Service, we are very pleased that it is even more convenient for them to do international express shipping. We have also been strengthening the services of our drop-off locations throughout Japan to meet the growing international shipping needs due to the increase in small- and medium-sized e-commerce businesses and individual customers."

Three steps of international shipping

The new "POS DIY Service" allows customers to print out air waybills and invoice on the spot after they fill in with the shipping information online and present the receipt number issued at any DHL service point. Customers can then use the free special packing material available at the store to complete the international shipping process.

DHL Express has been working to expand its nationwide network of drop-off locations and strengthening its services in response to the rapid increase in international shipments, triggered by the growth of the cross-border e-commerce market. There are currently 157 drop-off locations, or “DHL Partner Service Points” in Japan. These service points are developed in partnership with business convenience stores such as ACCEA, MBE, Kinko's, and Hankoya-san 21.
