DHL SUPPLY CHAIN EXTENDS LLP PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT FOR DOMESTIC LOGISTICS WITH NITTO DENKO IN JAPAN

Press Release: Tokyo, April 13, 2023

DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in contract logistics, has announced that it has renewed the Lead Logistics Partner (LLP) agreement with Nitto Denko Corporation (Nitto), Japan’s leading advanced materials manufacturer for a wide range of sectors including electronics, automobiles and life science. The initial agreement covering its logistics in Japan began in April 2018 for five years which concluded on March 2023. The contract renewal will now extend the partnership to March 2026. In addition to the existing scope of product logistics operations, this extension sees DHL Supply Chain take on materials logistics and production logistics operations previously provided by Nitto’s subsidiaries, Nitto Logi-com and Nitto Business Expert.

Andy Fujioka, VP, Strategic Development, DHL Supply Chain Japan, said “It is a great honor for us to renew the contract as the LLP partner of Nitto, a global leader in various key sectors. Since the commencement of our partnership in April 2018, we have successfully enhanced visibility of logistics operations, costs and quality, implemented metrics-based management through KPIs and rationalized logistics costs and operational processes. The materials logistics and production logistics will be a great addition to the scope of our LLP partnership. We believe that we can deliver new value to Nitto and contribute to Nitto’s ESG commitments by sharing various ESG programs, which we are actively driving as a global logistics leader.”

The LLP service provided by DHL Supply Chain introduces lean logistics processes to customers’ networks and delivers value-added services such as the end-to-end planning and design of supply chains. Other services include Key Performance Indicator (KPI)-based quality management, cost management visualization, and work process standardization, all of which help manage change across entire supply chains, so customers can more efficiently meet evolving business demands.

DHL Supply Chain has a proven track record in Japan of leveraging knowledge and expertise gained through its international operations to meet customer requirements locally, allowing it to expand and strengthen its business in the country. The company offers third party logistics (3PL) solutions, allowing customers to outsource their logistics management and operations fully. Solutions include warehouse management, domestic transport, service parts logistics, packaging design and recycling, all delivered through state-of-the-art IT solutions and project management techniques.
