DHL Express to Start Accepting Overseas Parcel Shipments From Post Offices Across Japan
Press Release: Tokyo, July 23, 2024
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, is now accepting overseas parcel shipments via “Letter Pack Plus”, a product of Japan Post Co. Ltd. Due to the solid performance of international document shipments via Letter Pack Light, which started in June last year, DHL will also begin shipping parcels in addition to documents. This will make international shipping of parcels even more accessible from any post office, mailbox, and some designated convenience stores in Japan. For detail, please see here.
Since its launch in June last year, the number of international document shipments using LetterPack Light has grown steadily. Primary users are small businesses and individuals, who valued the convenience of not waiting for DHL courier’s pickup or the feasibility of shipping from a nearby mailbox or post office. Customers can easily ship parcels with DHL after purchasing the “Letter Pack Plus” at post offices or convenience stores, preparing their shipping documents and completing payment using DHL's online shipping tool, MyDHL+ in advance.
Tony Khan, President and Representative Director of DHL Express Japan said, "The need for reliable international shipping has risen sharply in recent years since the pandemic and recent geopolitical situations. With our expanded service using Letter Pack, we are very pleased to be able to offer the reliability and speed of DHL services to a wide range of customers across Japan.”
