Press Release: Singapore, September 27, 2024
DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in contract logistics, has appointed Wassim Mnif as COO Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain, effective 1st October 2024.
Currently Head of Operations Excellence, DSC Japan and Korea Cluster, Mnif will relocate to Singapore from Japan where he is currently based. He will serve on the Supply Chain Global Operations Board and the APAC Management Board.
Mnif joined DHL Supply Chain as Head of Operations Excellence (OE), DSC Japan and Korea in April 2021. Along with his OE team, he has contributed significantly to the cluster’s standardization agenda and has actively championed smarter operations and transformed the OE function in Japan and Korea to support the business growth in the cluster. His achievements include the improvement of safety and quality practices and enhancing Operations Management Solutions (OMS).
Having spent 24 years in Japan while managing multiple projects within the APAC region, Mnif brings with him extensive experience, strategic thinking, and transformational leadership across different cultures.
“It’s an exciting time for DHL Supply Chain in Asia Pacific, and I’m honored to take on this responsibility to work alongside our talented teams in the region. As someone who has worked in diverse markets, I’ve seen firsthand the value of operational consistency across borders in enhancing performance and driving growth. I look forward to further strengthening our standardization efforts and I’m confident we can continue building on our success to deliver seamless solutions for our customers across the Asia Pacific region,” said Mnif.
Mnif will assume his new role on October 1, 2024, reporting directly to Mauricio Barros, Global COO, DHL Supply Chain, and Javier Bilbao, CEO, DSC Asia Pacific. He succeeds Michael Lai, who has moved to take on a new role as Head of Service Logistics, Asia Pacific.
Mnif’s appointment comes at a time of significant growth for DHL Supply Chain in Southeast Asia. Recent expansions across the region include the launch of the DHL Maheswara Green Logistics facility in West Java, Indonesia, and the state-of-the-art Sta Rosa facility in the Philippines. In Japan, the Kumamoto Logistics Center was also established to support DHL Supply Chain’s semiconductor customers as part of the company’s strategic expansion across key markets in the region.
