As the Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1®, DHL will continue to contribute to the seamless delivery of FIA Formula One World Championship™ events worldwide in 2025. In 2024 the DHL Motorsports logistics team helped facilitate the movement of, or directly transported, equipment critical to the success of F1 races, including race cars, engines, fuel, tires, spare parts, broadcast, and hospitality assets. The DHL Motorsports logistics team comprises 100 specialists, with up to half working on-site at events.
“DHL is proud to continue its partnership with Formula 1, supporting the seamless logistics required for such a prestigious global event,” says Arjan Sissing, Head of Brand Marketing at DHL Group. “Our expertise and commitment enable us to support the sport while advancing our shared sustainability goals through development and application of innovative logistics solutions. We look forward to another exciting season of collaboration and achievement for accelerated growth.”
The 2025 F1 calendar features 24 races on five continents, kicking off with the Australian Grand Prix from March 14-16 and concluding with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from December 5-7. The calendar includes three triple headers and two double headers (races taking place on consecutive weekends). Formula 1 continues to amend the calendar’s running order to improve the geographical flow of the races around the world in such a way as to reduce F1’s carbon emissions.
DHL has been Formula 1’s Official Logistics Partner for 21 years, making it the sport’s longest-standing Global Partner. Both DHL and Formula 1 share a strong commitment to sustainability goals and a common vision to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the sport. Through developing and facilitating multimodal and sustainable logistics solutions, incorporating road, air and sea freight, DHL supports Formula 1’s Net Zero by 2030 commitment.
“Formula 1 has clear sustainability commitments and our partnership with DHL is important in this journey,” says Ellen Jones, Head of Sustainability at Formula 1. “Together, we are implementing innovative logistics solutions that reduce our carbon footprint and will support the delivery of our Net Zero by 2030 commitment.”
As part of its ultra-efficient logistics strategy, in 2024 Formula 1 made significant investments in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for the first time, including through DHL’s GoGreen Plus service. Using SAF delivers an estimated 80% reduction in associated carbon emissions* per flight. Over the course of the 2024 season, Formula 1 is estimated to have saved over 8,000 tCO2e (tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent**), compared to the use of conventional aviation fuel.
Additionally, in 2024, in collaboration with Formula 1, we expanded our biofuel truck fleet which supports the European Season. On average, these trucks, which use biofuels like HVO, achieve an 83% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to their conventionally powered counterparts. In 2025, we are working to expand this biofueled truck fleet to further support the wider F1 community.
“Delivering the complex logistics for Formula 1 requires precision and dedication,” says Paul Fowler, Head of Global Motorsports Logistics at DHL Global Forwarding. “Our team works tirelessly with Formula 1’s in-house logistics’ team to ensure that every element of equipment, from engines to broadcast equipment, arrives on time and in perfect condition. Our partnership with Formula 1 highlights our commitment to excellence and sustainability in global logistics.”
