DHL Express, the world's leading international express service provider, has announced the opening of its news service center in Pyeongtaek to accommodate the growing international express shipment demand.
The 1,452 sqm Pyeongtaek service center features an advanced ‘full drive-in’ system that enables simultaneous indoor loading and unloading of up to 22 vehicles, enhancing the overall operations productivity and efficiency. In addition, the new facility is equipped with an electric forklift with battery charging station along with full LED lights across the entire building as part of energy saving measures – in line with Deutsche Post DHL Group’s goal of reducing its carbon footprint.
Byung Koo Han, Country Manager of DHL Express Korea said, “Ensuring our customers enjoy a seamless and reliable shipping experience is very important to us. With the opening of this new service center, we are now able to provide much faster and more flexible express services to our customers. As cross-border e-commerce continues to thrive, thereby driving the growth of shipment volume, we will continue to explore ways to invest and enhance our logistics infrastructure and network to give our customers the best quality of service.”
The new service center, located near the Pyeongtaek-Paju and Gyeongbu Expressways, is strategically located to strengthen the logistics network of the southern part of Greater Seoul Area covering Pyeongtaek, Hwaseong, Osan, Anseong and part of Yongin areas. It will also help to satisfy the burgeoning express service demands in these areas in tandem with adjacent Suwon and Ansan service centers. Specifically, major high-tech industrial businesses that manufacture electronics, semiconductor, automotive, chemical, cosmetics products in the area will have easier access to DHL’s robust global network and connect with their customers outside of South Korea.
Overall customer service quality is further improved with up to an hour of early delivery of inbound shipments as well as an extension of pick-up cut-off time for outbound shipments. Customers can now drop their shipments off in Pyeongtaek service center by 5:00pm for same day connectivity.
Earlier this year, DHL Express Korea expanded its Iksan service center. In South Korea, DHL Express operates 23 service centers and 8 service points, providing the largest number of customer contact points in the Korean express industry.
