DHL Express Partners With Jeju International Airport to Provide International Delivery of Lost Items
Press Release: Seoul, South Korea, April 16, 2024
- The partnership aims to provide delivery services tailored to diverse customer needs
- Items lost will be delivered to international destinations within two to three days upon receipt of delivery requests
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has partnered with Jeju International Airport of Korea Airports Corporation to provide international express shipping services for passengers who lost their belongings at Jeju Airport. This partnership allows those who have departed from Jeju to receive their lost items with an average delivery period of two to three days once the delivery request is made.
After verifying their lost items at the lost-and-found center at the airport, customers will be directed to DHL’s dedicated helpdesk. Passengers will be provided information on the estimated shipping cost and advised if the item can be shipped. Upon receiving delivery requests from the customers, DHL will take care of all the necessary shipping processes, including the preparation of waybill and commercial invoices, pickup, and customs fees for delivery services in the destination country.
The partnership between DHL Express and Jeju International Airport caters to the growing number of lost properties amid the influx of overseas travelers to Jeju. In recent years, customer complaints have grown, pointing to difficulties in retrieving lost belongings due to high shipping costs and customs clearance issues. With the launch of this partnership, departing travelers can now retrieve their lost items quickly and safely.
Jihun (Michael) Han, Managing Director of DHL Express Korea, said, “The partnership underscores our commitment to enhancing customer convenience. By helping overseas travelers retrieve their lost belongings conveniently, we can demonstrate our expertise in international express shipping and reliability. We are actively seeking opportunities to partner with different enterprises and public organizations, and provide services that cater to our customers’ needs.”
Since 2019, DHL Express has also provided a similar service to travelers departing from Incheon International Aiport through a partnership with Incheon International Airport Corporation.
