State-of-the-Art Airfreight Facility at Amsterdam Airport

At Amsterdam Airport - Your Main Gateway to Europe


In 2024, DHL Global Forwarding will relocate her headoffice to the new sustainable location at Barnsteen in Hoofddorp, right next to Schiphol. This location has been constructed according to BREEAM Excellent sustainability standards.

The storage and cross-docking activities will take place in a spacious warehouse of 23,000 square meters, featuring 38 docks, two of which will be equipped with a 20-foot docklift. Special facilities will be available for the transportation of hazardous materials, perishables, and life sciences goods. Additionally, the new construction will include a modern office space of 3,755 square meters, which will become the headoffice of DHL Global Forwarding in the Netherlands.

GoGreen

This headoffice is built on BREEAM Outstanding standards and investments are being made to reduce the energy consumption by means of solar panels, smart meters, adaptive and reactive LED lighting and efficient heating and cooling systems.

 

The new headoffice will be gas-free, fully insulated with sustainable wooden accents in the facade cladding, and equipped with solar panels to provide energy for the building. The outdoor area will of course have charging stations for electric cars, and around the warehouse, there will be a green zone with a variety of trees and plants.
