REVAMPED INDEPENDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL OF SUSTAINABILITY EXPERTS ADVISES DEUTSCHE POST DHL GROUP ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS SUSTAINABILITY ROADMAP
Press Release: Bonn, October 11, 2022
Deutsche Post DHL Group has revamped its Sustainability Advisory Council with a new group of external experts from science, politics, business and other relevant fields. The Sustainability Advisory Council advises the Group's internal Sustainability Steering Board and other functions within DPDHL Group on sustainability-related issues and thus plays a key role by providing significant support to the implementation of the Group-wide sustainability agenda. The knowledge and experience of the Advisory Council members ensures that a comprehensive outside-in perspective on all sustainability issues is obtained. In this way, the Advisory Council supports objective decision-making and evaluation of Group-wide measures to achieve the Group's goals in climate protection, to become a great company to work for all and as a highly trusted company.
“With our Sustainability Advisory Council, we have bundled tremendous knowledge and experience from internationally renowned experts covering the key focus topics in our sustainability roadmap. I firmly believe that with the critical and constructive feedback from the Council members on our sustainability-related commitments and activities, we will be able to further drive the transformation of the entire logistics industry towards a more sustainable future”, says Yin Zou, Executive Vice President Corporate Development at DPDHL Group.
In March 2021, Deutsche Post DHL Group had announced that it would further increase the pace of the company's planned de-carbonization and invest a total of 7 billion euros in measures to reduce its Greenhouse Gas (CO2e) emissions by 2030 alone. As part of the renowned Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the Group has adopted specific targets to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. Beyond the commitment to the environment, clear targets and measures have also been defined for the areas of social responsibility and governance.
