Press Release: Manila, August 11, 2021
The world’s leading express service provider has facilitated the delivery of Pfizer- BioNTech vaccines since May this year
DHL Express, the world's leading express service provider, continues its partnership with the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) and has successfully delivered more Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines to the country, including the first batch of the government’s procured supply from the manufacturer.
"We are grateful to DHL for facilitating the safe transport of these Pfizer vaccines for the benefit of our kababayan [citizens]. Napakahalaga ng mga bakuna na ito upang mas marami pang kababayan natin ang mabakunahan at makakuha ng proteksyon laban sa COVID-19. [These vaccines are very important so that more of our citizens can be vaccinated and get protection against COVID-19.] Kaya naman po [That’s why], let's choose to be vaccinated when it's our turn to protect ourselves and our families against COVID-19. Together with the government and the private sector, let us all work together to beat COVID-19,” said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
The vaccinations were shipped in specially engineered thermal shipper packaging with dry ice to regulate the temperature, allowing them to be used in locations where the physical infrastructure to maintain the needed temperature was lacking. Each thermal shipper box also contains temperature trackers equipped with sophisticated GPS technology to provide full visibility throughout the shipment’s entire journey.
“We are honored to continue our partnership with the Department of Health and supporting the government in yet another milestone by bringing in the vaccines into the country,” added, Nurhayati Abdullah, Country Manager, DHL Express Philippines. “We remain committed to contribute to the vaccination program and our community by leveraging our extensive network and experience to make vaccines accessible.”
The world’s leading express service provider will continue partnering with various local government agencies to support vaccination efforts, such as the Resbakuna campaign of the Department of Health.
