DHL SUPPLY CHAIN PHILIPPINES, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DHL SUMMIT SOLUTIONS INC. (DSSI), JOINS METRO MANILA PRIDE CELEBRATION
Press Release: Manila, Philippines, 29 June 2022
- DHL solidifies the celebration of International Pride Month in the Philippines
- As a global organization with thousands of local employees, the change in DHL’s logo is a stand, a voice, and a call for Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).
For the first time, DHL Supply Chain Philippines and DHL Summit Solutions Inc. (DSSI) officially express their support for the LGBTQ+ community by sponsoring the Metro Manila Pride March on June 25, 2022 happening at CCP Open Grounds, Pasay City.
As part of their D&I initiative, both organizations synergized to organize this partnership as a form of support to their own LGBTQ+ local community. Supply Chain and Logistics as two of the male dominated industries, DHL Supply Chain and DSSI support Deutsche Post DHL’s global commitment to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
DHL is part of DPDHL, who proudly promotes an inclusive work environment that values the diversity of all their employees and in which everybody feels accepted and can be their best self.
“Joining the Pride March is a message to our employees who are part of the LGBTQ+ community how DHL supports them not only as employees but also as individuals. We want to champion the D&I culture embedded in our organization” says Katrina Soliveres, the Country Head of Human Resources of DHL Supply Chain Philippines. This was further supported by Teodora De Villa, the Head of Human Resources of DSSI who agreed that this decision is a Human Resources movement instead of a marketing campaign.
Further to that, an internal webinar was organized featuring stories of their own community tackling different journeys of transformation and ‘coming out’ narratives. This was also participated by Metro Manila Pride’s Deputy Executive Director, Chantal Crisostomo, who discussed about the LGBT+ awareness topic in the Philippines setting.
DHL Supply Chain Philippines and DSSI hope that their engagement may be an invitation to other brands to strengthen their D&I initiatives.
