DHL Supply Chain Turkey, part of the world's leading logistics company DHL Group, has received the Good Distribution Practices (GDP) compliant transfer center certificate for its İzmir Transfer Center. DHL Supply Chain Turkey, the first company in Turkey to receive this certificate with its Ankara Transfer Center, will provide GDP-compliant services at its Izmir Transfer Center as well. The company will offer its customers transportation services in full compliance with GDP regulations through its distribution network in İzmir.

The GDP-compliant transfer center certificate, introduced in Turkey in 2023 and issued by the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency operating under the Turkish Ministry of Health, is used to ensure the safety and quality of the supply chain in the pharmaceutical industry. Companies with this certificate are committed to properly managing the processes from production to storage, transportation and distribution of medicines. DHL Supply Chain Turkey is expanding its GDP-compliant transfer center infrastructure with its GDP-compliant transfer center and storage center, temperature-controlled vehicle fleet, experienced human resources in the healthcare industry and information technology infrastructure.

Stating that they are proud to add the second GDP-certified transfer center to their network, DHL Supply Chain Türkiye General Manager Buket Cox said: “We continue our investments in healthcare logistics by obtaining the GDP-compliant transfer center certificate for our İzmir Ttansfer Center, following the certification of our Ankara Transfer Center. We are contributing to the overall safety, quality and integrity of medicines in the Turkish healthcare industry with this certificate, which shows that medicines are produced, transported and distributed safely. As part of the DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics company, we leverage our global experience and resources, as well as our local competencies to continue the application processes for GDP-complaint transfer center certificates for our transfer centers in other regions, and we strive to offer this service across Turkey.”
