DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider, today announced further enhancement of On Demand Delivery (ODD) service by establishing a partnership with 1,300 EC service store locations of Hi-Life International Co., Ltd. across Taiwan. This service expansion will fulfil the rising demand for cross-border e-commerce services and enhance the accessibility and options for pick-up locations for global shippers and recipients. Together with the existing retail pick-up service available at FamilyMart convenience store and Chungwa Post iBoxes, DHL Express now boasts the retail network in the country, offering over 6,000 pick-up points for cross-border online purchases.

“Cross-border e-commerce has been on the rise as more consumers shop on international e-commerce platforms in addition to the typical domestic e-commerce sites. As we strive to be the number one express service provider in the country, we are expanding our retail coverage and injecting greater convenience to cater to the changing consumer habits. DHL Express’s 260 dedicated aircraft and professional teams spread around the world, so we can meet the demand of online shoppers anytime, anywhere,” states Yung C. Ooi, Managing Director, DHL Express Taiwan.

When shopping on a cross-border platform, DHL will automatically send the links of shipment number and DHL " On Demand Delivery” service to the recipient's computer or mobile device at the first time of sending the shipment, through which the recipient can flexibly set the date, time and place to pick-up. While paying customs duties, recipients can pay them through DHL online Advanced Duty Collection platform or directly pay them when collecting shipments at the Hi-Life store counter. After delivery of the goods to the designated Hi-Life store location, the recipient will be notified by text message to pick them up at the store.

DHL Express ODD not only helps to increase successful deliveries to 98 percent but also helps cross-border retailers to increase business revenue as well as market share. The partnership with Hi-Life convenience store greatly enhances the flexibility and accessibility of DHL customers’ self-pickup services and demonstrates DHL's ongoing efforts on anticipating and satisfying customers’ demands in Taiwan.
