DHL GLOBAL FORWARDING RE-VALIDATED FOR U.S. CUSTOMS-TRADE PARTNERSHIP AGAINST TERRORISM (C-TPAT) PROGRAM

Press Release: Miami, Florida - January 14, 2020

Re-validation underscores knowledge and full compliance with supply chain security measures for customers

DHL Global Forwarding, the Deutsche Post DHL Group’s air and ocean freight specialist, announced today that its freight forwarding operations have been revalidated in the U.S. Government’s Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). The program, administered by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, is designed to safeguard the security of goods entering U.S. territory while enhancing trade flows in and out of the country.

The revalidation was issued following an extensive security audit by the C-TPAT Supply Chain Security Specialists of DHL Global Forwarding (DGF)’s facilities in the Americas region. Each visit included a detailed examination of DGF’s supply chain security, a comprehensive review of all relevant DGF policies and procedures, and an extensive review of warehouse operations.

“At DHL Global Forwarding, compliance with C-TPAT and all other global security programs are essential to the way we do business,” said Bill Meahl, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding Americas. “The latest revalidation reaffirms our continued commitment to supply chain security and solidifies our legacy of supply chain security excellence.”

In addition, the C-TPAT Supply Chain Security Specialists awarded DGF with eleven Best Practices in the areas of supply chain security risk assessment; physical security; security training and threat awareness; information technology security; business partner requirements; container, conveyance and transport security; procedural security; and personnel security.

The latest revalidation, expected to be in place for four year, reinforces the company’s knowledge about supply chain security which is the cornerstone of its Americas Supply Chain Security Consultancy service (launched in 2017). Led by former customs and law enforcement professionals and with a global team of more than 250 security personnel, DHL Global Forwarding offers a robust portfolio of services to companies interested in becoming C-TPAT members or simply achieving a more secure supply chain in general.

The service offers 10 Training Modules, including C-TPAT 101, C-TPAT Best Practice Training, Policy & Procedures Training, Developing a Supply Chain Risk Assessment, Security Training & Awareness Program, Security Breaches & Internal Conspiracies, among others. Non-sector specific, the modules include on-site training, interactive sessions and best practices development which can be tailored for any industry.
