Press Release: Westerville, OH, Aug. 18, 2021

  • Only 11th Central Ohio company to surpass fundraising milestone
  • DHL riders have logged 60,590 miles since 2011

DHL Supply Chain, the global and North American contract logistics leader within Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL) Group, held a celebration today at its headquarters located at 360 Westar Blvd., to commemorate reaching the $2 million fundraising milestone since its employees began engaging in the Columbus, Ohio area volunteer and philanthropic activity in 2011.

DHL Supply Chain has had hundreds of employees participate in the Pelotonia charity bike ride, contributing more than 3400 volunteer hours and riding 60,590 miles – almost 2 and half times around the Earth – for cancer research. DHL becomes just the 11th Central Ohio company to surpass the fundraising milestone.

“As a socially responsible organization, DHL Supply Chain recognizes the importance of supporting the communities where our associates live and work and we are proud to align with such a worthwhile cause like Pelotonia which has a singular goal – to end cancer,” said Scott Sureddin, CEO, DHL Supply Chain. “This fundraising achievement is proof-positive of the commitment by our associates to support the Pelotonia mission through volunteerism to fund cancer research.”

Founded in 2008, Columbus-based Pelotonia was established with the objective to fund innovative cancer research. As a centerpiece of its year-round fundraising efforts, Pelotonia hosts a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment and volunteerism. Since its founding, Pelotonia has raised over $217 million for cancer research.
