Press Release: Weston, FL, January 30, 2023
- DHL eCommerce Solutions ships more than 1,000 books from Hindi’s Libraries to book deserts across the U.S.
- The collaboration is the first between the logistics provider and non-profit
DHL eCommerce Solutions, a division of the world’s leading logistics company, Deutsche Post DHL Group, announces it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with non-profit Hindi’s Libraries to pack and ship free of charge more than 1,000 books featuring diverse characters to children in all 50 states during February.
Throughout Black History Month in February, DHL eCommerce Solutions will ship from its Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky distribution center the books donated to Hindi’s Libraries by a publishing house partner. The elementary school-age books will reach children in low-income areas where books are difficult to obtain.
“After learning at DHL eCommerce Solutions about the great work and hundreds of thousands of books Hindi’s Libraries has donated globally at no cost to recipients, we were excited to collaborate on this project and impact young readers across the country,” said Scott Ashbaugh, VP of Operations, DHL eCommerce Solutions, Americas.
As part of Deutsche Post DHL Group’s GoTeach program, which aims to empower children and young people to develop the skills required to gain future employability, this collaboration aims to improve literacy in cities throughout the U.S. that have been deemed “book deserts.”
"We are so humbled to partner with such a distinguished company to promote our literacy efforts. DHL has been a tremendous supporter of our work, and we are grateful to be able to do such wonderful work together in celebration of Black History Month," said Leslie Gang, cofounder of Hindi's Libraries.
