DHL SUPPLY CHAIN CONTINUES TO INVEST IN ITS HOME STATE OF OHIO

• DHL recently broke ground on a 755,000-square foot development in Violet Township, Ohio
• Facility is estimated to open in Q2 2024

DHL Supply Chain, the Americas leader in contract logistics and part of DHL Group, today announced it is expanding its footprint with a new, 755,000-square-foot distribution center in Violet Township, Ohio. The distribution center, which will be located near DHL Supply Chain’s U.S. headquarters in Westerville, Ohio, is anticipated to open in Q2 2024 and create approximately 200 jobs for the region. This addition brings DHL’s total footprint to +15M square-feet in its home state and +161M square-feet in North America.

The Violet Township facility will leverage the latest robotics technology and automation processes and will be tailored to the customer’s unique operational requirements. In addition to prioritizing digitalization investments, this facility will lead the industry in sustainable building planning and construction. This includes the following sustainable features: 

• LED lighting with smart controls
• Clerestory windows for natural lighting in the warehouse
• Electric vehicle charging infrastructure for commercial vehicles and cars
• Solar PV ready roof
• Native flora and fauna landscaping 
• Rainwater harvesting for landscape irrigation
