DHL Supply Chain Celebrates Women Honored With 2024 Women in Supply Chain Award

Women in Supply Chain Award bestowed by leading supply chain publications, Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive

DHL Supply Chain, the Americas leader in contract logistics and part of DHL Group, is pleased to announce that three of its exceptional leaders—Francisca Hernandez, Leah Perez, and Susan Galic—have been recognized with the 2024 Women in Supply Chain Award by Supply & Demand Chain Executive. The award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship, and examples set a foundation for women at all levels of a company’s supply chain network.

Francisca Hernandez,  general manager of a facility in West Virginia has been acknowledged in the DEI Pioneer category for her unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Having been with the company for 5 years, she has become known for her compassionate and inclusive leadership style; she has significantly impacted her team by fostering a supportive and inspiring work environment.

Leah Perez was honored in the Trailblazer category. She is general manager of a facility in Texas and brings over twenty years of experience in the supply chain industry. Leah has dedicated her career to mentoring new associates and promoting opportunities for women in logistics, paving the way for future female leaders.

Recognized in the Workforce Innovator category, Susan Galic, is an area human resource manager overseeing approximately twenty sites in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In her ten years with the company, Susan's innovative programs, such as the Operation Supervisor Forum and the Talent Advancement Initiative, have significantly contributed to the professional development and promotion rates within DHL Supply Chain. Her focus on mentoring female employees demonstrates her dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders.

“Every year, this award continues to amaze me. But this year especially, it’s all about the quality of the submissions. These women are doing remarkable things for their communities, organizations, and teams and are paving the way for future young female leaders to be a part of an industry that’s making a difference,” said Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Co-Founder of the Women in Supply Chain Forum.

Since the award’s creation, eleven DHL Supply Chain executives have been honored. These recipients include Shelly Nirvelli, vice president of business development, packaging solutions; Gretchen Torres, vice president, marketing & engagement; Bridget Typovsky, vice president of operations excellence – project delivery; Amanda Hall, director of quality assurance; Paige VanFossen, vice president, eCommerce operations; Becky Ross, vice president, IT; Elaine Darr, vice president, operations excellence;  Alicemarie Geoffrion, vice president, packing operations, and Denise Mager, vice president, operations life sciences and healthcare. In the award’s inaugural year Sally Miller, [then] chief information officer and Valerie Hoge, chief operating officer were named recipients.
