Czech Republic toll rate increase from 1st of March 2024

The electronic toll system in the Czech Republic will introduce a new component of toll fees starting from March 1, 2024. This new component will take into account the production of CO2 emissions and will affect all categories of freight vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons.

The new toll rates are designed to consider the CO2 emission classes of vehicles and are implemented in accordance with European directives, aiming to support the reduction of CO2 emissions.

This is a regulation of the Czech Republic government and is beyond the control of DHL Freight CZ s.r.o.

Increase in Toll Rates in Hungary from January 1, 2024

Dear Business Partners,

With effect from January 1, 2024, the Hungarian government has approved an increase in toll rates. This involves raising individual toll components and altering their calculation method. The scope of toll-charged road sections will also be expanded, and new vehicle categories with mandatory toll payments will be introduced.

Due to these reasons, beyond the control of DHL, we are compelled to adjust the final fee for transportation or handling transportation from the mentioned date. The adjustment will vary based on the type of transportation, selected product, and the destination.

This increase applies to all shipments involving international transport products destined to/from Hungary or utilizing Hungary as a transit country.
