DHL Supply Chain and Zalando, a leading European online platform for fashion and lifestyle, have signed an contract for e-commerce fulfillment services. As part of this contract, DHL Supply Chain will ensure the distribution of beauty samples to Austrian customers. The operation in Pohořelice, which is part of a bigger network of more than thirty DHL distribution centers specialized on e-commerce fulfillment, was entrusted with the implementation.
“We have been providing our services to Zalando since 2018, when the DHL Supply Chain distribution center in Poland was opened. Two years later, another warehouse was added in Spain. We are very pleased that Zalando has chosen us for cooperation in this case as well,” says Kamil Řezáč, sales manager at DHL Supply Chain.
Using its extensive network of distribution and fulfillment centers, DHL Supply Chain can offer and quickly implement logistics solutions that significantly reduce the cost of warehousing, shipping and last-mile delivery. “The customers only pay for the services used. They do not have to rent a warehouse with equipment and staff. They are charged only the costs related to the current number of occupied warehouse positions and picked orders,” explains Kamil Řezáč the advantages of the DHL Fulfillment Network.
The advantage of the distribution center in Pohořelice is its strategically advantageous location, which significantly shortens the delivery time. In addition, the operation meets strict parameters for the storage of flammable substances. DHL Supply Chain ensures their transport to Vienna, from where the orders are further distributed by local carriers. Transport is subject to the rules for the transport of dangerous goods and is provided only by thoroughly trained drivers.
“Another advantage of using the DHL Fulfillment Network is immediate access to the web interface of the service, where a package of pre-defined reports is available. The customer can track the product’s journey from storage to delivery to the end customer. At the same time, they can check KPIs, volume statistics, including the current stocked quantity,” adds Kamil Řezáč.
