A clear victory

This was exactly the event that took place at the end of June, when the professionals from R42 and colleagues from the DHL hub in Leipzig got together and transformed DHL's own event space into a gambler's paradise.

But what exactly is R42? It is named after its location at Ritterstraße 42 in Leipzig. The event arena will be able to host e-sports tournaments with up to 100 gamers. In addition to coworking spaces for start-ups and a sound and video studio, a DHL lounge is also part of the project, which will open at the end of 2023.

Through DHL's partnership with R42, the joint idea to organise a gaming cup at the hub was born. For this purpose, there was an internal call for entries in which colleagues could register in teams of three. This turned the famous race against time into an exciting competition against each other. At the same time, LEJ Hub colleagues could play various games at small stations or simply watch the team duels with popcorn and a drink in hand.

The registered teams had exciting duels in various games such as FIFA, Mario Kart 8 and Rocket League. In the end, the DHL team won 25:0 against the R42 team. Afterwards, the internal Hub Tournament took place, in which employees played against each other. In the end, this was won by a team of three BA students. One of them is Merlin: "We had a lot of fun, it was a great addition to the working day and we're looking forward to the next tournament," he sums up the day.
