Very Special Moments

Whether Lützschena, Gröbers or Hayna - there was popcorn everywhere. The small central German communities not far from DHL's largest freight hub received a particularly entertaining delivery in August and September. The package included blockbusters such as "Kangaroo Chronicles", "Nightlife" as well as "Fast & Furious 9" and "Ausgerissen".

A mild summer evening invited to the summer cinema on the Biedermeier beach.

The cinema tour is not coming for the first time: the DHL Summer Cinema was already firmly anchored in the event program of the DHL hub in 2019; however canceled due to the 2020 corona pandemic. “Organizing events like this is a lot of fun and gives the small communities another cultural highlight,” says Stefan Macourek from the turnstile.

And it was worth it: Cool drinks, snacks and mild temperatures after sunset allowed the visitors of all kinds of film tastes to enjoy the cinema under the starry sky. Another quick ice cream, then the performance starts.

Not only do many colleagues visit the summer cinema. Many people who have not yet touched the turnstile are also sitting in front of the screen. Nobody goes unnoticed that the selected films are presented in a yellow-red frame. In addition to the entertainment program, everyone gets a glimpse of what is going on at the air freight hub at DHL. Often the audience dies forever.

Take a seat now

Many visitors become curious when they see the short image clip in the opening program. They are happy about what the company is organizing in the region. There is also enthusiasm for how the DHL hub in Leipzig connects the world with one another - from Hayna to Hong Kong.

And it is not uncommon for guests to want to drop by. "We are confident that it will also be possible in the future to experience film enjoyment like this around our location and, in addition to the entertainment, to convey knowledge about the turnstile," said Macourek. Also next year he would like to deliver the very special moments with the DHL summer cinema team. - Christian Adam
