We Deliver Music
If people cannot go and listen to live music in times of corona virus, then we deliver music to people. Together with the Gewandhaus Orchestra, we organized four very special live concerts.
When our DHL buses drove into the courtyards, the first curious people were already peeking out from behind the curtains. When musicians with horns and violins got out and started to play music, windows and balcony doors opened. On 25 and 28 April, musicians from the world-famous Gewandhaus Orchestra played at the children's hospice Bärenherz, St. Elisabeth Hospital, ADVENA hospice and retirement home Leipzig Volkmarsdorf. Delivered by us - the DHL Hub Leipzig.
Together with the Gewandhaus Orchestra, we surprised residents, employees and patients with music. Our team ensured that instruments and music stands were on site on time and also brought the musicians to the event locations. For two violinists and four horn players we drove through Leipzig to bring joy to people who take care of others, cannot just go outside or cannot be visited by their loved ones.
The music delivery also left a lasting impression on our HR colleague Maria Balke, who accompanied the mini-classic tour as driver: “It was an incredibly wonderful experience to put a smile on people's faces with music. I still get goose bumps when I think about it. Being part of this great campaign makes me proud and gives me strength in the current situation.”
At each venue the musicians played twenty-minute concerts and received great applause. “It was a very special moment for us. We want to play music for people and that was a great opportunity to do so. I hope we were able to give people something that makes them happy in these difficult times,” summarizing the concert experience from the musicians' point of view. - Stefan Macourek
