As a passionate cyclist Daniel Josenhans has already done many mountain bike tours. On the first weekend of July this year, he beat 1,150 vertical meters in the Ahrgebirge, but this time in the yellow and black jersey and together with colleagues from all over Germany. One of them was Frank Appel, CEO of DPDHL Group and initiator of the annual cycle tour.

Daniel works in the security department at the DHL Hub Leipzig. When he read the call to "biking with the boss” on the intranet, he did not hesitate long and signed up for the famous tour. He was lucky enough to be drawn by lot, which allowed him an unforgettable weekend in the Eifel.

Unforgettable due to the athletic challenge, the runs through the Ahrgebirge and the unique atmosphere. Unforgettable for Daniel is also to have personally met the CEO of the DPDHL Group. "It was great to talk to Frank Appel about our passion cycling, our daily work and the future of the Group," says Daniel. He also remembered the team spirit: "We motivated and supported each other, although we did not even know each other before the tour." For Daniel, however, this spirit is not an unknown feeling, as he adds, "because DHL lives on that". —  Julia Ende
