This award honors corporations for their internships which would contribute to students' social and professional independence, based on third-party evaluations such as student surveys and student meetings. The award is also reviewed by a committee comprised of university professors, university officials, corporations, government agencies, and Mynavi.
Eijiro Oue, Vice President – Human Resources of DHL Express Japan said, "True to our purpose of “Connecting People, Improving Lives”, we believe logistics plays a crucial role in supporting industries, businesses, and people's lives. We are delighted that our internships offered to students help them experience professional life at a global company and understand the value of logistics."
About the internship of DHL Express Japan
The internship DHL Express Japan conducted was a two-month experience program aimed at undergraduate or graduate students, who get to learn the ropes across operations, finance and administration, and customer service functions. The program aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn about the mechanisms and services of global logistics. Through interaction with employees of diverse backgrounds and careers, and with other students participating in internships, the students can deepen their understanding of the work at an international logistics company and have the opportunity to think concretely about their future careers.
Some students’ feedback include, “Not many companies offer long-term internships of two months. I was able to learn a lot and be a contributing member of the society”; “Thanks to the approximately two-month training period, I was able to understand and get involved in the finer details of the business”; “To be involved in the operations allowed me to deepen my understanding of working at DHL, an international logistics company.”
