DHL IS NOW DOUBLING THE PACE FOR CLIMATE-SMART CHANGE

Until the end of December this year, the money spent by customers on the green option SKICKA GRÖNT will be doubled by DHL. This means that for every krona that customers invest in SKICKA GRÖNT, DHL adds the same amount. This income is fully invested in climate-smart technology. The result is an increased pace for the usage of climate-smart vehicles and fossil-free fuels by DHL, which makes the transition to a more climate-smart Swedish transport system go faster.

– As one of the world's largest logistics companies, we take responsibility for a more climate-smart Swedish transport system. We are pleased that our customers are increasingly choosing our green option and have decided to double our customers' investments in SKICKA GRÖNT until December 31 this year, says Robert Zander, CEO of DHL Freight Sweden.

The concept is simple. As a customer, you choose the option SKICKA GRÖNT for your shipments and DHL ensures that our Swedish haulers can invest in climate-smart technology and receive compensation for the additional cost. When customers choose SKICKA GRÖNT, DHL compensates the equivalent tonne-kilometers that the shipments creates with a more expensive climate-smart technology somewhere in our domestic network.

– SKICKA GRÖNT contributes to a faster transformation of the Swedish transport system and that our carriers dare to take the risk that a more expensive climate-smart technology entails, says Maria Nilsson Öhman, Sustainability Manager at DHL Freight Sweden.

Since 2002, DHL has offered customers, together with DHL, to invest in climate-smart alternatives in the Swedish transport network.

SKICKA GRÖNT is produced in DHL's green vehicle fleet, which so far has traveled over 32 million km, which corresponds to 800 laps around planet Earth. Or about 40 trips to the moon and back.
