- DHL's Home Delivery Parcel Service Connects E-commerce Businesses and Retailers with 70% of Swedish Households
DHL Freight is expanding its product and service offerings in Sweden. With the new DHL Home Delivery Parcel service, 70 per cent, more than 7 million, of Sweden's residents can now receive smaller parcels directly at their doorsteps. The new service offering increases convenience and accessibility for both shippers and shoppers online. Thanks to its extensive network, DHL is able to provide an end-to-end solution that ensures high quality and efficiency of service.
"With our new last mile solution in Sweden, we are completing our service portfolio in the country. This makes us an even more attractive provider for shippers and recipients. Both buyers and sellers want increased availability and flexibility in delivery options. Our home deliveries are designed to meet these needs," says Robert Zander, CEO Nordics & Baltics DHL Freight.
The home parcel delivery service strengthens DHL's overall offering, as it complements existing service via approximately 1,900 parcel stores and more than 1,100 parcel lockers. DHL has also recently launched returns via parcel lockers and a pilot for Saturday deliveries.
Easily managed through a digital interface, shippers can choose between daytime unattended doorstep deliveries or for parcels to be handed over with ID control. While end consumers can opt for a specific delivery day and will receive continuous updates on shipment status. Thanks to DHL’s extensive network in Sweden, lead time for home deliveries is one working day for about 85 per cent of customers.
"For e-retailers, DHL will now become an efficient and reliable one-stop shop. At the same time, it will be easier and more flexible for end consumers. We are improving the digital customer experience, which means that consumers can feel confident that DHL delivers in exactly the way that suits their needs for each and every parcel," says Johan Widman, Director E-commerce DHL Freight Sweden.
