Press Release: Bangkok, 23 November 2021

DHL’s specialized temperature-controlled fleet will ensure chilled and frozen food products are kept in optimal condition throughout the distribution cycle
Thaifoods Group, the Thailand-based company engaged in integrated food production business has appointed DHL Supply Chain Thailand (“DHL”), the global market leader in contract logistics solutions, to manage the transportation and distribution of its pork, chicken meat, and processed food products from, manufacturing branches in Kanchanaburi, Khon Kaen, Chonburi, and Prachinburi, to customers across the nation. End destinations include trade distribution centres, trade stores, quick service restaurants, industrial food services, TFG shops and hub where food products are prepared to be exported.
Steve Walker, Chief Executive Officer of DHL Supply Chain Thailand Cluster said, “It is an ideal partnership with Thaifoods Group because we have the right expertise and solutions to ensure that their products are delivered in their best condition and efficiently across their entire distribution network in Thailand. Thaifoods Group can also get access to our MySupplyChain platform to get full visibility of the entire process and track where the products are, anytime.”
Chilled and frozen foods require specialized temperature-controlled technology and transportation systems as these food products lose quality easily. In order to maintain the quality of these products, the temperature-controlled transport vehicles from DHL maintain an optimal temperature throughout the journey, and are designed to adhere to strict sanitation standards – trucks are professionally cleaned before and after each delivery. DHL also ensures that its team of drivers undergo rigorous training to handle these products throughout the transportation process.
DHL’s integrated online system enables route planning, tracking of delivery status, and gives customers 24-hour access to delivery information from the DHL Connected Control Tower through the MySupplyChain platform. “We’re confident that DHL Supply Chain transport services will help Thaifoods Group improve operational efficiency through significant cost reductions so as to enhance profitability. This will give the company a competitive advantage in the market, positioning it for growth in both domestic and international markets,” added Walker.
Mr. Phet Nantavisai, Chief Operating Officer of Thaifoods Group said, “DHL Supply Chain is the clear choice as we need a shipping partner with excellent performance, quality assurance, and a solid understanding of how to handle and deliver food products that require highly dedicated premium food safety standards. When DHL Supply Chain explained to us their transportation and handling process for chilled and frozen food, we were immediately confident that they are the most suitable partner for the Thaifoods Group.”
Thaifoods Group expects significant growth in its pork business this year, driven by growing market demand, and a 20% increase in domestic production plans and business has also doubled in Vietnam this year. At the same time, the company will expand its chicken production business to the Middle East region, one of the world's largest consumers of chicken meat. Exporting chicken to foreign countries is another key driver of the company's chicken production line.
