DHL Global Forwarding utilizes an indexed fuel surcharge in shipping that is adjusted monthly, based upon the fuel prices published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. We also assess security surcharges based on the current global environment.

Domestic Fuel Surcharges Air and Ground Freight
Changes to the Fuel Surcharges will continue to be effective the first day of each month.
February 2025: New Rate: 30.5%, effective February 1, 2025
January 2025: Rate was 28.5%

Security Surcharges

International Security Surcharges
Security will be implemented on all international air export cargo. Note that due to the volatility of the market, these rates are subject to change.
Effective: December 15, 2014
Domestic Security Surcharges
Due to the significant increase in security-related costs post 911, DHL Global Forwarding implemented a Domestic Security Surcharge in shipping on the chargeable weight for certain expedited domestic shipments. The Domestic Security Surcharge will not apply on our RoadMaster® deferred service shipments.
