- Australians are encouraged to submit a memorable story of their time on a patrolled beach, to win a donation of AU$5,000 (€3,333) to their favourite Surf Life Saving Club
- The campaign aims to raise awareness of the efforts of Surf Life Saving Australia volunteers in keeping the country’s beaches safe
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider and Surf Life Saving Australia are encouraging Australians to participate in this year’s DHL Summer campaign.
The campaign, which runs from today until 3 March, 2019, invites Australians to submit a memorable story involving a Surf Life Saving Club patrolled beach at www.dhlsummer.com.
The featured patrolled beach mentioned in the winning story will win the respective Surf Life Saving Club a donation of AU$5,000 (approximately €3,333), that will go towards funding club equipment, training resources and maintenance work. In addition, the contributor of the winning story will receive a gift card worth AU$1,000 (approximately €666).
Gary Edstein, CEO and Senior Vice President at DHL Express Oceania said, “Every patrol season, Surf Life Saving Australia volunteers work tirelessly to keep Australians and visitors safe at the beach. Thanks to the dedication of volunteer surf lifesavers, we are able to enjoy a safe, positive and memorable time at the beach with our families and friends.”
“At DHL, we are proud to once again support Surf Life Saving Australia and raise greater awareness of the beach safety message in the DHL Summer campaign – to swim at patrolled beaches between the red and yellow flags,” he continued.
Featured in this year’s campaign video are memorable stories of a day at the beach, contributed by Michael Bonnici, a volunteer surf lifesaver from Wanda Surf Life Saving Club and Tracey Hare-Boyd, a volunteer surf lifesaver and former president of the North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club.
The DHL Summer campaign will run from 29 January, 2019 to 3 March, 2019. To participate, please visit www.dhlsummer.com.
