UK-Malaysia Joint Economic and Trade Committee
This week the UK and Malaysia held the inaugural Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting. Following the welcome of the first FTA between the UK and Malaysia, achieved through the CPTPP, this meeting is a signal of the deepening of an already strong trade relationship between the two. A joint workplan to enhance bilateral cooperation in key priority areas was endorsed, with focus areas including SME support and facilitating market access between the UK and Malaysia.
