Cologne has had an independent department for diversity and inclusion for several years. This department is primarily concerned with creating recognition and appreciation of diversity. In addition, it draws attention to special human situations, but also consciously addresses forms of discrimination and does a lot of awareness-raising work in a wide variety of areas.

We firmly believe that diversity makes us stronger. That is why we create an inclusive working environment in which every person has the opportunity to fully exploit their individual potential. We work together to develop innovative solutions that offer our customers added value.

These are our measures

  1. Onboarding Diversity Day: Our new employees are given an introduction to our corporate culture. In the thematic blocks of cultural diversity, generations, gender diversity & LGBTQIA+ and inclusion, knowledge and facts are shared, but there is also room for questions and an exchange of experiences. This allows us to pass on the spirit at the CGN HUB directly and sensitize employees right from the start of their DHL journey.
  2. Inclusion of people with disabilities: We are convinced that every employee has individual abilities and wants to be an active, productive member of our company. At CGN HUB, our existing inclusion department and its collaboration with various service providers and an inclusion service provider give us the opportunity to provide individual and professional advice, guidance, coaching and support. From onboarding to feedback meetings, applying for aids or adapting work equipment - we are there to create the best possible conditions in the company for our employees with a wide range of coaching and support services tailored to their needs - so that everyone can contribute their skills to our company!
  3. Participation at Cologne Pride: We want to set a strong example for our employees from the LGBTQIA+ community and have been taking part in the Cologne Christopher Street Day for a few years now. We stand up for human rights, show ourselves openly as Allys and want to celebrate diversity with our colleagues.
  4. Comprehensive range of support: As an employer, we want to be there for our employees in all situations. Whether it's a family care situation, problems with childcare or life crises - we are committed to the well-being of our employees through our locally networked advisory and support services.
  5. Annual Employee Opinion Survey (EOS): With the help of our annual employee opinion survey, we are not only able to find out about the management behavior of line managers or the perception of the company situation, but also how our employees perceive our values. We ask exactly how our employees feel they belong and how they rate our development in terms of diversity and inclusion. The results are used to highlight our potential for improvement, which we tackle with specific measures.

The CGN HUB is the DHL hub at Cologne Bonn Airport. It is operated by DHL Airways GmbH, a subsidiary of the DHL Group, and is part of the DHL Express division.
