Questions about continuing to send to UK after Brexit? If you use My DHL Parcel you will only need to fill in the customs information for your shipment. Here’s how to do it

Create your shipment label to UK with My DHL Parcel

  • Please fill in your shipment details as you have done so far. When selecting the UK as a destination country, a banner will appear where you can fill in the customs information for your shipment. 

    • Select the value of your shipment (commercial/non-commercial) 
    • Export type (e.g. sales)
    • The reason for export (permanent if a sale)
    • Describe the item and its price
    • Select the merchandise code or comforty code you find here

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All shipments documented on or after October 24, 2019, must take all necessary documentation for customs clearance, thus avoiding potential destination issues.

  • At current transit time, 3 to 5 days (one more day from Portugal), the customs management time must be added to the destination country.  The first steps that occur can lead to delays in delivery.

  • DHL eCommerce does not have returns service from the UK.

  • With product DHL Parcel Connect packages that exceed €1,000 of value cannot be shipped.

  • Incoterms (international trade terms or terms of international trade) These are terms that reflect the parties’ acceptance rules in an international sale contract. The incoterms delineate the liability between seller and buyer and clarify the costs for each party in business transactions outside the EU.

    If you submit with My DHL Parcel and your product is DHL Parcel Connect, the Incoterm called DAP (Delivery at Place) will be applied for which the seller must deliver the goods to the buyer (passing customs) and perform customs clearance formalities. The buyer must pay the taxes generated.

  • If you do not have the commercial invoice of the shipment content you will need to attach a proforma invoice. Remember to place two copies of the invoice (commercial or proforma) in the Packing list that will be attached to the package.

  • The Comforty Code is the code you have to give to your product depending on how it is, to be used or made. You can find the UK's Comforty Codes by pinching here.

  • The Packing List is a plastic envelope that must be attached to the package that we are shipping and contains important documentation for shipping outside the EU. Documentation within the Packing List will be reviewed by Customs at destination

    If you have created the shipment with My DHL Parcel and use product DHL Parcel Connect, your Packing List must contain:

    • A copy of the CN23 document
    • A copy of the CP71 document
    • Two copies of commercial invoice or proforma
  • The CN23 is a customs declaration that must accompany the package we are sending to the UK, provided it is performed using My DHL Parcel and product DHL Parcel Connect. The ideal for expediting the customs process is that this document is completed in English. Failure to properly populate this document could result in delays in delivery, and if the company could be completed with false information, the company may face a fine or the incautation of the merchandise.

    In addition to the CN23, the shipper must accompany the package with CP71 and two copies of the commercial invoice.

  • The CP71 is an expedition document where sender and receiver data and a description of the contents of the package appear. It is mandatory to properly complete the CP71 for shipping outside the EU if you use the My DHL Parcel shipping tool. 

    In addition to theCP71, the shipper must accompany the package with the CN23 document and two copies of the commercial invoice.
