OUR MISSION IS TO ACHIEVE NET ZERO EMISSIONS BY 2050.
STRATEGY 2030
Our goals for 2030
At DHL Group, sustainability is a journey, not a destination. That’s why we’ve set milestones to focus our efforts and measure our progress. These clear, time-bound targets and KPIs are an integral part of our strategic planning and decision-making processes, just like our financial goals. By 2030, we aim to achieve the following objectives:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions to <29 million metric tons of CO2* by doubling and accelerating decarbonization measures across all operations.
- Achieve >30% sustainable aviation fuel usage in our Express and Global Forwarding services.
- Electrify 66% of our last-mile delivery vehicles.
- Implement carbon-neutral building designs in all new facilities.
*Subject to potential adjustments due to methodology updates or changes in business scope, e.g., mergers and acquisitions.
DHL POP Parcel Service Points
During deliveries to pickup points or lockers, more parcels can be handled during a courier's stop compared to door-to-door delivery. This translates to fewer kilometers driven.
The DHL network of points and lockers is constantly growing and now includes 20,000 locations. In most cities, points and lockers are within easy reach, so by choosing this delivery method, you can reduce your carbon footprint!
Deliveries to some DHL BOX 24/7 lockers and POP points are carried out using our fleet of electric vehicles, further supporting the eco-friendly nature of these deliveries.
Fleet
- Our modern fleet of vehicles directly impacts the reliability of our logistics processes and services.
- Electric cars and bikes - We conduct advanced testing and utilize electric cars as part of our courier fleet. Additionally, we successfully use electric bikes, which make it easier for couriers to operate in areas inaccessible to cars.
Energy and environmental standards
Dekra Certification Certifications
Our commitment to energy efficiency and environmental protection is confirmed by certificates.
ISO 50001 demonstrate that we are delivering the best energy management practices.
ISO 14001 The Environmental Management Standard has an impact on preventing contamination, increasing self-control and accountability among employees.
Infrastructure
Automated Parcel Sorting
We use modern sorters equipped with laser scanners and video cameras. Advanced technologies enable us to quickly sort large volumes of parcels. This allows us to optimize machine operating times and energy consumption while minimizing manual handling of parcels. As a result, it takes only a fraction of a second to measure and weigh your package and prepare it for its next journey.
Efficient and Economical Lighting
We have partially upgraded the lighting in warehouses, sorting facilities, and parking areas to LED lamps. Thanks to these changes across dozens of facilities nationwide, we have significantly reduced electricity consumption by several kilowatts.
